Kendalia Holds Annual Homecoming, June 24
Wednesday, June 13, 2012 • Posted June 14, 2012

The Kendalia Community Club was organized October 1, 1954 and on May 6, 1955, the first homecoming barbecue was planned. From 1971-l975, the event was not held, but since then it has been held every year except for the great flood of June 22, 1997. During the great flood food that had been prepared the day before (sausage, potato salad and coleslaw) was served at the Kendalia Firehouse to Guadalupe campers and others stranded in Kendalia.

God willing, the Kendalia Community Club is again planning a chicken and sausage barbecue on Sunday, June 24 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, large plates $8 and small for $7. Desserts will also be available. Other homemade or homegrown items will be for sale by the Kendalia Neighbors Study Club.

Activities include live music by Tibby Armke and Ricky Triesch, raffle and auction.

Donna Jonas will have the newly published “Kendalia History of the Settlement from 1847-1957” for sale.

You all come.
