Blanco County Republicans took a full delegation and never missed a vote at the 2012 Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Convention June 7-9. Following redistricting of Texas, Blanco County gained two delegates to the state convention, for a total of 8 delegates and 8 alternates. Delegates elected Steve Munisteri, Chairman & Melinda Fredricks, Vice Chairman of the RPT for a second term. Other business included election of delegates and alternates to the Republican National Convention, new members to the RPT State Executive Board, and representatives to the Texas Republican Electoral College. Speakers included all of the state leaders, senate runoff candidates, Ted Cruz & David Dewhurst, and nationally known, Congressman Ron Paul, Senator Rick Santorum, & Congressman Paul Ryan.
