Johnson City hosts a spectacular fireworks celebration every Fourth of July to remind us all of our freedoms we so dearly hold to our hearts. This annual celebration is called the Spange Dangle Fourth Of July Celebration. The 2012 Spange Dangle Committee invites you to our annual celebration this year for fun and festivities. It will all begin on the morning of the Fourth of July with the parade starting at 10 am. At noon there will be hotdogs served on a first come, first serve basis provided by the Silver K Café. At one p.m. there will be a softball game at the city park softball field next to the city pavilion; Blanco County Coed All Star Team vs. Johnson City Chamber of Commerce. Also at the Blanco County Fairgrounds, the annual washer pitching tournament will be conducted. Those that want to participate must register by Noon of the Fourth. There will be fun things to do and food & drink including beer, wine & soft drinks. No Ice Chests will be allowed on Fairgrounds. This is a no cost event. We are taking donations at the entrance & exit gates for any contributions you would like to give to help support the efforts of putting on this fantastic event.

The evening festivities will begin with music at 5:30 pm until midnight performed by Painted Horse & Scooter Pearce. The 2012 Spange Dangle Fourth of July Fireworks Display Program will begin at 9:15 pm at the outside pavilion facing the rodeo arena. There will be a Color Guard Presentation of the Flag, Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation, Song ‘The Star Spangle Banner’ and then the Spange Dangle Fireworks Display exploding high into the air to many patriotic songs. God Bless America.
