Coach Pitch Girls Win Championship

The Blanco Coach Pitch Girls won the Johnson City coach pitch tournament this past weekend. They played their first game Friday night against Johnson City and won a close one, 14-13.

Saturday was a long, hot day as Blanco had to play Mason at 9am. Blanco lost to Mason 12-13, with Mason scoring 3 in the last inning for the win.

Blanco was in the losers' bracket at that time and knew they were in for a long day if they were to make it back to the championship game.

The next game was against Fredericksburg. Blanco was down 12-6 going into the last inning. Blanco rallied and scored 7 runs to win in dramatic fashion 13-12. Blanco then had to play Johnson City again and won 14-7.

Once they beat Johnson City, all games were back to back. Wimberley was up next and Blanco was rolling this time and beat Wimberley 13-2.

After starting at 9am and playing 4 games, Blanco made it to the championship game, which started at 7:30pm.

Blanco had to face Mason again and this time they were ready and beat Mason 8-7 to win the championship.

Players for Blanco were Jaysie G., Toni D., Lilly P., Carley R., Anna B., Emma S., Peyton W., Cat S., Ashlinn C., Rylee D., and Victoria C. Coaches were Laura M., Travis D., Robert S., Leslie M., and John B.
