Exhibit Reveals Bonfire Tradition
Wednesday, July 4, 2012 • Posted July 5, 2012

Uptown Blanco Art Center hosted an opening reception at the Uptown Blanco Courtyard for Dion C. McInnis and his photos of the Texas A&M bonfire.

In 2003 and 2004, Dion was a Grey Pot for Bonfire, and the first Head Stack of Bonfire after 1999. He used his intimate knowledge of Bonfire to capture views of the tradition that most people don’t get to see and most photographers cannot capture. In the close-knit bonfire culture, an experience this close is only found “in the woods,” as they say.

The exhibit will be on display at the Art Center until July 31.
