Carl Wilger, 11, and his dad Steven Wilger, both of Fredericksburg, stopped in at the Old Blanco County Courthouse to see the fossil collection. Manager Lesley Griffith explained to them that, when True Grit was filmed in the building, the fossils had to be wrapped up and stored, and they hadn’t been placed back in the display case yet. The Wilgers offered to help with the display.

The fossil collection is now back on display thanks to Carl and Steven. As some of the fossils aren’t labeled; if you can identify the artifacts, stop by and let them know. The Old Courthouse Visitors Center is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
