Trash Talk
Wednesday, August 1, 2012 • Posted August 3, 2012 10:36 AM

Cans and bottles along with other debris were left along the approximately quarter-mile on River Run that is level with the river in the 24 hours between Wednesday and Thursday evening. This is where everyone goes to swim, fish, and sit by the water. It is where the ducks hang out. It is a favorite spot of Blanco’s citizens.

Some Statistics:

15 cans and bottles were collected (all recyclable)

11 were Budweiser battles or cans

1 was Dr. Pepper

1 was Coors

2 were Keystone

One can infer from the above facts that Bud drinkers leave their debris behind or there are more Bud drinkers than consumers of other beverages. It doesn’t matter! Take your trash home! Please note: it is the experience of this litter collector that Real Ale drinkers do not leave their bottles behind. I have picked up two Real Ale bottles in five years of helping keep Blanco litter-free.
