Brown Bag Lunch Series at Library

The Blanco Library is pleased to present a series of guest speakers and programs in the large conference room at the library. All programs are scheduled from noon to 1 PM. Bring a sandwich and the Friends of the Library will provide a beverage and dessert.

Author Mary Powell will be the first presenter on Thursday, January 10th. Mary, a native Texan, is a graduate of the writing program at Texas State University and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing. Introduced at an early age to Galveston’s beaches and back bays, she received firsthand background for her novel, Galveston Rose. Her first novel, Auslander, also published by TCU Press, deals with three generations of a German family in Central Texas. At present, she divides her time between Canyon Lake, Texas and Lake Chapala, Mexico.

Future programs include; essayist and columnist Winter Prosapio, World War II Memories and sing-a-long, book review by Jackie Hinton, photo exhibit of Rural Texas Women at Work, 1930-1960 from Humanities Texas and authors J. Richard Knoll and Albert Santos.
