Teens! Do not forget that this Thursday we will be showing “The Twelve Kingdoms” anime at the library! Join us at 5:30p.m. for the movie and refreshments. Kids can also come to collect their reading prizes through August 10th. A big thank you again to all of our sponsors who made this program possible!

Technology for All is running a special contest. Go to our website to find out how you can sign-up to win a free iPad or a $100 gift card to Best Buy. Be sure to click on the iPad icon and follow the instructions. Also, this month’s course lessons are focused on PowerPoint from 4pm to 5:30.

During this month, the Pioneer Museum is presenting “The American Road to Victory Trilogy” at the library starting Tuesday 7th at 6:30pm and Saturday the 11th at 1:30pm at the library. These movies will be shown every Tuesday and Saturday, finishing on August 21st. The Pioneer Museum will be hosting the author signing of Jeffrey Kerr August 28th at 5pm. Jeffrey Kerr is the author of Austin, Texas – Then and Now and The Republic of Austin.

Interested in making friends? Love the library? We now have two volunteer positions open! The lovely couple that was donating their time on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings is moving and we are terribly sad to see them go, but that means you can get a chance to join the library in helping out the community. We are looking for people who can work the front desk, greet people, and shelve library items on Tuesdays 5-8pm and Wednesdays 3-6pm. Stop by the library to fill out a volunteer application. We look forward to seeing you!

You can also make friends and expand your writing skills by joining our Blanco Writers Group this Thursday at 2pm at the library. You will get to meet others, share your works, and get tips. There is no cost, just come on in! If you cannot make it this Thursday, remember that it meets every second Thursday of the month.
