Growing Tropical Plants or “The Inside Gardener”
Wednesday, January 2, 2008 • Posted January 1, 2008

The Blanco County Master Gardeners’ Association invites you to attend a presentation on cultivating tropical and indoor plants given by Blanco County Extension Agent, Todd Swift on Tuesday, January 8 at 1:00 p.m.

Todd has an extensive background in all aspects of horticulture. A graduate of Angelo State University with both Bachelor of Science and Master Degrees, he has over 15 years of experience as County Extension Agent in Runnels, Llano and Blanco Counties. Todd was Blanco County Extension Agent from 1989 until 1997 and has recently returned to this position.

Todd owned and operated the Planter Box Nursery in Marble Falls from 1998 – 2004. During that time he developed his knowledge of and experience with tropical plant species by being responsible for their wholesale distribution across central Texas.

Todd’s presentation will focus on the proper selection of tropicals, creating optimum growing conditions and, as with most discussions of gardening in the Hill Country, he will address the unique challenges associated with growing these plants. This meeting is a good opportunity for you to meet and get acquainted (or reacquainted) with your County Extension Agent.

The presentation will be held on Tuesday, January 8 at 1:00 p.m. at the Blanco County Library. The library is located in Blanco at 1118 Main St. between 11th and 12th Streets. Parking is available behind the library.
