It was Christmas

It was Christmas. The world was quiet. Brown leaves that had fallen from the naked trees covered the ground. Winter grass had begun to peek through the straw. The sky was grey and it was a cold, still day. She was alone except for His Presence. No presents except for His Presence. “What a joyful, hopeful, restful setting for His kingdom to come, His will to be done in my life!” she thought.

She remembered other Christmas’s with the children, the toys, the excitement, the noise of laughter and smiled. There is a season for everything under the sun…under the Son.

She sat expectantly, listening for His voice…She wasn’t disappointed!

“I am the Alpha, the Omega…the Beginning and the End.”

“The same God Who saved the child is the agèd woman’s friend.”

“I AM the King of all the ages…I AM the Lord of all the years…

Your source of laughter in the springtime…comfort in winter’s tears.”

“As the time grows nearer for you to come to Me…

I give you solitude so that in it you will see opportunity.”

“Remember how you fought for moments just to seek My face?”

“Now you have a quiet life…a picture of My grace…and My longing…”

“Although I never leave you, distractions take your time…

And the last piece of the pie each day seems always to be Mine!”

“Listen, child, I want to tell you secrets from Life’s store…

I know I Am your strength, your life…I’m wanting to be More!”

“I want to be the joyful Song that awakens you each day…”

“I want to be the priority…the One for Whom you pray…”

“I want to show you pictures of the land you soon will see.”

“I want the loneliness you feel to be a longing just for Me…”

She sang the Song that held her close…She would share it with her kin…But the sweetest notes she saved and kept them there within for Him!
