JV Panthers Battle Hawks

The Blanco Panther Junior Varsity football team lost the battle against the Canyon Lake JV team on Thursday, August 30th, with a score of 14-38.

Canyon Lake Struck first with a touchdown in the 1st quarter. The extra point attempt failed. Blanco tied the game in the 2nd quarter with an interception by Logan Dodd. Dodd returned the interception 39 yards for the score. The extra point attempt was no good. The game was tied 6-6. The Hawks quickly scored another TD and the two- point conversion. Blanco fired back on an 85 yard kickoff return by Logan Dodd and a two-point conversion pass from quarterback Jordan Wagner to Dodd. At 2:10 remaining in the 1st half, the game was tied 14-14. The Hawks quickly scored again to take the halftime lead 22-14.

The two teams held each other scoreless in the 3rd quarter. The Hawks then added two touchdowns and two two-point conversions in the 4th quarter for a final score of 38-14.

Offensively, Blanco QB Wagner tossed passes to Dru Ramirez, Logan Dodd, and Aaron Uballe. Rushing yardage was tallied by ball carriers Alex Juarez, Chase Horton, Eddie Torres, and Adrien Dominguez.

Defensively, Dodd snagged two interceptions. Outstanding tackles were made by Jake Breeding, Keith DeArmond, Trey Hodge, Joe Lopez, Phil Alvarado, Jack Morgan, Ryan Ronces, Dominguez, and Ramirez.
