This week, Young Life will begin our weekly Young Life “club.” Young Life club is best described as controlled chaos. We will play a few games, sing a lot of high-energy songs, and have a lot of fun. Most importantly, I will have the privilege of standing in front of my high school friends and telling them about Jesus. Although lots of time and effort go into planning and executing the club, it is by no means the entirety of Young Life. Young Life is built around creating authentic relationships with high school kids, right where they are. We want to send the message to each kid that they matter and that a relationship with Jesus is just as available to them as it is to anybody else.

This past summer, we were able to travel to Frontier Ranch, a Young Life property in Buena Vista, Colorado. During our time at Frontier Ranch, a few of our Blanco kids got a chance to hear about Jesus in a way they had never heard about Him before. It was extremely encouraging to see some of our kids begin a relationship with Jesus and has fueled us for this next year.

Making relationships is the most important part of Young Life. We believe that to most effectively tell kids about the way Jesus loves them we first have to show them by the way we treat them and others. We could not be more excited to begin this season of Young Life. It is our goal to be able to share the Gospel of Jesus with every student at both Blanco High School and Blanco Middle School.
