Volleyball Spars with Spartans

The Panther volleyball squad faced a strong St. Stephens Episcopal team on Tuesday, September 4, falling to the Spartans, 1-3, with set scores 10-25, 25-23, 16-25, and 22-25.

The JV also struggled with a loss, 10-25 and 22-25.

Each of the Panther teams rallied in their second games, making the scores closer and more exciting, but the Spartans held on for the wins.

The Varsity team returned to St. Stephens on Friday and Saturday for a tournament hosted by St. Stephens. On Friday, Blanco defeated the St. Paul II Guardians 25-4 and 25-19. The Panthers then lost to St. Stephens 15-25 and 18-25, followed by a win over Great Hills Baptist 25-16 and 25-19.

On Saturday, Blanco beat the Episcopal High School Knights 25-21 and 25-19. Once again, the Panthers faced St. Stephens in a game that proved to be a battle for each point, with the Panthers falling 22-25 and 22-25.

Finally, the Panthers played St Agnes losing 11-25 and 25-27.

The volleyball teams next home game is Friday, September 14 against San Antonio Christian with JV starting at 4:30p.m. and Varsity at 5:30p.m.
