In a gospel meeting effort a man responded to the invitation on the first night, and said, “Lord fill me, fill me Lord.” On the second night of the meeting he responded again and said the same thing. On the third night when the same man did the same thing a voice was heard from the back of the auditorium, saying, “Plug the leak Lord, plug the leak.”
The Lord has offered his invitation to all men. “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy, and My load is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).
It is without doubt one of the great hidden desires of the human heart, to find rest from all that consumes us. Coming to Christ we will find ourselves refreshed, our souls restored to their rightful place. No more continual searching, no more restless wandering, a end to not knowing who we are, and to whom we belong, our eternal plan is revealed in Christ. Do not fear this good Master for He is truly gentle and humble of heart. However you may stand in life, hear Him when He says, “Come to Me.”
