Cross Country Runners Shine at UTSA Ricardo Romo Classic
Wednesday, September 26, 2012 • Posted September 30, 2012

The Blanco High School Cross Country team got a good look at its competition last Saturday, as they ran against opponents throughout Region IV at the UTSA Ricardo Romo Classic in San Antonio.

Meaghen Seales placed 2nd in the Girls AA division (out of 107 runners), while Rance Dollahite placed 14th in the Boys AA division (out of 154 runners). Also placing for the Panther Girls were Bret Leigh Nance (20th), and Breanna Collins (25th).

“I was so impressed with all our runners,” said head coach Stuart Schultz. “Meaghen was running with a heavy heart because she lost her select softball coach in a tragic car accident. Meaghen still finished second, but we could tell she was preoccupied with her thoughts.”

“Bret Nance took two minutes off her time, and Breanna Collins took four minutes off her time.”

“On the boys side Rance Dollahite ran his best time ever and best finish ever. We had several of our kids who did not run.”

“The kids have been really getting after it in their workouts.”
