Early Voting for November 6 General Election Begins Soon

Anyone wishing to vote early for the November 6, 2012, General Election may do so starting October 22, 2012. Regular hours for early voting will begin October 22, 2012 and run through November 2, 2012. It will be held in the Conference Room, Room 108, Blanco County Annex, 101 E. Cypress St., Johnson City, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Applications to receive a ballot by mail are being accepted by the County Clerk’s office at this time.

Weekend early voting will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., and again on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Room, Room 108, Blanco County Annex, 101 E. Cypress St., Johnson City.

Voters may request a ballot be mailed to their residence only if they are 65 years of age or older or are disabled. All other requests for ballots to be mailed must include an out of county address to which to mail the ballot. Written requests for ballots should be addressed: Karen Newman, Early Voting Clerk, P.O. Box 65, Johnson City, Texas 78636. They must contain the voter’s name, permanent address in Blanco County, an address of where to mail the ballot, a statement that the voter wants a ballot for the November General Election, a telephone number and the reason the request is being made for a ballot to be mailed. Each voter must sign his or her own request. The last day to receive an application is October 30, 2012.
