8th Grade Panthers Tangle with the Cougars

The 8th grade football team lost to the Jarrell Cougars 6-34 on Thursday, October 18.

The Cougars struck first with a touchdown, but were denied their 2-point PAT when Hayden Hunt tipped the pass away from the receiver. Jarrell quickly scored again and added their 2-point attempt to take a 0-14 lead. Hunt returned the kick-off to the Panther 47 yard line to give the Panthers good field position.

Kailen Webster made a 45 yard run to score 6 for Blanco. The extra point attempt failed. Jarrell scored another 6 points to lead at halftime 6-20.

The Cougars added two more touchdowns and one 2-point conversion to boost the final score to 6-34.

Outstanding tackles were made by Stephen FLores, Chase Coggins, Kailen Webster, Noah Wheeler, Sebastian Thomas, Tanner Cain, Garrett Seales, Pablo Guajardo, Jayden Barrett, Gage Bussey, and Jacob Robinson. Cameron Martinez carried the ball for good yardage for the Panthers.
