“Care and Share“ Thanksgiving Meal Set for Nov. 17
Wednesday, November 7, 2012 • Posted November 8, 2012

The Blanco Masonic Lodge has announced that the annual Ernie R. Davis, Jr. memorial “Care and Share Dinner” will be held on Saturday, November 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or until the food runs out. The Lodge is located on the Southwest corner of US Hwy. 281 and Eleventh St. Each year local Masons and Eastern Star members provide a full Thanksgiving dinner to the elderly, shut-ins and the local Blanco Community residents through the free event. The meal is prepared and served by volunteers from Blanco Masonic Lodge #216 and Blanco Eastern Star Chapter #934.

The “Care and Share Dinner” meals are served in the Lodge for those who can join us at the Lodge and home delivery is provided to the elderly and shut-ins who cannot make it to our Lodge. Last year over 240 meals were served at this annual Thanksgiving tradition.

Brother Dennis Moore, who has played a pivotal role in ensuring that the meals are delivered, notes this is just one of the many ways that we as Masons work to give back to our community.

If you are unable to attend in person, we can make arrangements for home delivery. To request home delivery, please call Dennis Moore 830-833-5708 or call 210-862-1132 to reserve a spot on the home delivery list. You may also call the Blanco Masonic Lodge at 830-833-4164 to make a request for home delivery. Orders will be accepted until 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 16.
