Thanksgiving is a time for eating turkey, sharing time with family and thanking God for all the blessings of the year. The core group of Keep Blanco Beautiful wishes to take this opportunity to thank all those unheralded citizens who aide us in keeping our small town beautiful and promoting the “Blanco Spirit” which makes our community so special. Levi Hildebrandt spends many hours getting the power up and running for the Christmas lights. Council members Danny Ray, Martin Sauceda and Al Turner cruise the streets collecting bulky items on Clean-up Day. The Youth in our community give many hours of service picking up trash and working on the Christmas decorations. Lowes’ support providing nourishment at events is invaluable. Kirk Felps cuts the rebar that keeps the holiday light displays from toppling over. P.E.C. donates time and trucks to string lights and banners. With much experience, residents of the Intermediate Sanction Facility in Burnet help bring our Trail of Lights together for our community and visitors to enjoy. Every time you visit the recycling center you are not only helping the environment in general but Blanco’s in particular – thank you to every citizen who takes their glass, cans, cardboard and paper products to the center for helping Keep Blanco Beautiful. These good citizens work behind the scenes, alongside the Keep Blanco Beautiful Committee, to assure our town remains a place we can all be thankful to live in.
