Tennis Center Opens in Spring Branch
Wednesday, December 5, 2012 • Posted December 6, 2012

The long awaited and much anticipated grand opening of the Spring Branch Tennis Center (SBTC) was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, November 29.

The Tennis Center is a dream fulfilled for SBTC board president Erinn Murray, board members, and tennis fans throughout Comal County, North Bexar County, and Blanco County.

The initial plans began in 2006 for the center. Six years later, two courts of the ten planned are now on the ground. The courts are located centrally at Jumbo Evans Sports Park on 281 North in Spring Branch.

Funding for the courts was provided by Comal County ($90,000), United States Tennis Association - Texas ($10,000), United States Tennis Association - National ($25,000), and SBTC ($10,000). More work is needed to grow the center to its full plan. Come join in the fun a life-long sport such as tennis can bring.
