Lee Sweeten to Speak at Hill Country Cattle Women Meeting

Interested in underground water rights and groundwater planning?.... Hill Country Cattle Women invite you, as well as members and guests, on January 15.... to hear Mr. Lee Sweeten, General Manager of the Real Edwards Conservation & Reclamation District. Since becoming manager in March of 2003, Mr. Sweeten has worked with the District ro revise and update the District’s rules and policies. He is active in groundwater planning at the local, regional and state level and serves as one of the District’s representatives to the Plateau Regional Water Planning Group, the Region 7 Groundwater Management Area, and the Texas Alliance of Groundwater Districts Rail Road Commission Committee. Mr. Sweeten was recently appointed to serve as the Groundwater representative to the Nueces Estuary Advisory Council (NEAC, dealing with environmental flows). Mr. Sweeten is a strong believer in private property rights and local control of resources and is active in monitoring state and federal regulations that will impact such property rights and/or local control.
