Panthers Head Into the Holidays With a Win

Alisa Guler scored 13 points and the Blanco Panthers upset the Johnson City Eagles on Friday, December 21 as they took a huge victory.

The Eagles could not stop the Panthers who continued to sink basket after basket as they were out for revenge after they fell short in Johnson City with a score 39-30. The Panther wasted no time taking the lead. The Panthers made the game look easy, as they breezed through the first period with a score of Blanco 15, Johnson City 9.

As if the Panthers did not take an easy lead during the first period they continued to play their game and sank another 21 points in the second period while holding the Eagles to only 10 points. The Panthers had total confidence and it showed during this first half of the game, as they retired to the locker room with the scoreboard reading Blanco 36 Johnson City 19.

The third period was just as outstanding for the Panthers as the first two as they sank another 15 points while the Eagles managed to sink only nine points. The victory went to the Panthers with a final score 57-37.

High scorer was Guler who had five two-point shots and was three for four at the line for a total of 13 points.

Sarah Kocurek followed with 12 points as she sank two three-point shots, two two-point shots and was two for six at the line.

Lacee Hunter who has shown great improvement sank 11 points followed by Sarah Isenberg with had eight points and Crystal Thomas who had six points.

Madeline Walker sank three points while Symbri McCarroll and Alyssa Warner each had two points.
