KBB teams with Honor Society to promote recycling
Wednesday, January 14, 2009 • Posted January 13, 2009 10:00 PM

Keep Blanco Beautiful has teamed up with BMS National Junior Honor Society to help promote the recycling of some common items that are normally thrown away. These items include used computer printer cartridges and old cell phones. Many of you may hate to throw these items away, but don’t know what to do with them. Donate them to us! This project has been taken on by the Middle School NJHS in order to provide this recycling opportunity to the community, help protect the environment, and raise funds for our service organization.

Our club earns from five cents to three dollars for each ink cartridge. We are paid from twenty five cents to ten dollars for each used cell phone. The amount we earn depends on the brand and model of the item and whether or not it can be refurbished. The money we raise is used to pay our national dues and to fund our various service projects.

You may drop these items off at any of the three school campuses (or send with a student). Real Foods and the Blanco Chamber Office are also collection sites. Thank you in advance for your support. This is a win-win situation for our community, the earth, and the Blanco Middle School National Junior Honor Society.
