PEC supports higher education for area students
Wednesday, January 14, 2009 • Posted January 13, 2009

Pedernales Electric is once again offering scholarships to high school seniors in its service area. PEC encourages local students to continue their education by providing fifty $1,000 scholarships to use toward their expenses at any accredited university, college, junior college, technical school or trade school.

Students must be a senior in high school, and their parents or legal guardians must be PEC members in order to be eligible.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on application responses, academic performance, standardized test results and financial need, as well as motivation and personal character.

The PEC Scholarship Committee selects the judges who determine recipients.

Applications currently are available from area high school counselors, any PEC office and online at www.pec.coop. They must be postmarked or turned in to any PEC office by Monday, March 2, 2009.
