Klepac receives Texas Rural Youth Leadership Award
Wednesday, January 14, 2009 • Posted January 13, 2009

Fifty-three years ago, the San Antonio Livestock Exposition established the Rural Youth Award to honor youth leaders across the State of Texas. This prestigious award provides recognition for FFA and 4-H members who have shown outstanding leadership in their organization and community. Each organization conducts its own nomination and selection process and submits honorees to represent their selective organization. Claire Klepac, of the Blanco FFA Chapter, was selected as one of the top twenty students from across the state to receive this $1,000 scholarship and award.

Criteria used to select the winners include demonstrating exceptional leadership skills, extensive FFA involvement and community service and excellence in planning and executing their supervised agricultural experience program. Recipients will be presented with a $1,000 scholarship and will be recognized at the Rural Youth Banquet to be held on Friday, January 30th. Claire and one parent will be guests of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition for the banquet.
