Middle School Panthers take on Hunt

The Middle School Girls’ basketball teams traveled to Hunt on January 8 to take on the Eagles.

The seventh grade A team played a close game but were unable to pull ahead.

Matching point for point, the Panthers ended the first half 8-9.

High scorers for the game were Devon Branch and Cala Foster with eight points apiece. Deanna Sevilla contributed 4 points, and Meaghen Seales and Zoe Cox had 3 points and 1 point respectively.

The Panthers were defeated by the Eagles, 24-28.

The eighth grade A team didn’t allow the Eagles many points, managing to outscore them by 23. Angel Williams sunk ten points, making her the top scorer for the Panthers. Lesley McClinton and Elise Edmondson put up nine and eight points respectively.

Kelsey Schwind had six points total. Raini Romero, Mishelle Calzoncit, and Audre Johnson scored five, four, and two points each. Final score was 44-21.

They will host Comfort for their next game on January 22. Game starts at 5:00pm.

The Middle School Boys’ basketball teams hosted the Hunt Eagles on January 8 at Blanco Middle School.

The seventh grade A team easily knocked Hunt down, 34-19.

David Ramirez led the scorers with an amazing 16 points. Dakota Perkins had six points. Alex Palos and Kyle Sauceda each scored four points, and Juan Avila and Jubal Elrod each contributed two points.

The eighth grade A team hit the court running, outscoring the Eagles 59-25, with the Panthers sinking an inordinate amount of three pointers.

Ian Ray was lead scorer with 21 points, Sam Isenberg trailed by five with 17 points. TJ Hardin and Gilbert Rodarte had six and five points, respectively. Colton Childress and James Leachman each had two points. Tyler Brown rounded out the game with two points for the team.

They will travel to Comfort on January 22. Game time is 5:00pm.
