Varsity Panthers Dominate Brooks

The Varsity boys shut down Brooks Academy on January 9, when they hosted them at Blanco High School.

Brooks had no chance as the Panthers outscored them almost 2-1 for the win.

Leading the team in points with thirteen each was Derek Tesch and Chase Howells. Zach Barnes followed with eight. Dillon Luke, Blake West, and Tanner Rogers all put seven points on the board. John Pepper went up for six points total.

JJ Pepper and David Hostetler each put up five points and Anthony Vela and Henry Greathouse each had two. Final score was 75-46.

There were no stats available for JV at press time.

The boys will travel to Harper on January 13, and will host Johnson City on January 16.

The Varsity Girls’ teams hosted Brooks Academy on January 9, and the Panthers walked away with the win.

The Varsity girls came out on top in their fight against Brooks, coming out and taking control of the game from the beginning.

Lacee Hunter dominated the night, putting 28 points on the scoreboard. Justine Cooley was able to contribute ten points, with six of them the result of three point shots. Alyssa Warner had nine points, four from of them from the free throw line. Carla Martinez went up for seven and Felicia Skillman had three. Micaela Klein, Morgan Petri, and Tatiana Alegria got a basket apiece, each putting up two points. Abby Weaver and Kayla Martinez each made one free throw. Final score, 65-42.

The girls will travel to Harper Tuesday, January 13 and then to Johnson City on the 16th.
