Edna Leona Gerhard, 86, beloved Mother and Grandmother went to be with her Lord January 13, 2009. She was born January 18, 1922 to William and Selma Menking. She worked over 30 years for San Antonio Drug Company, and she and her husband lived in San Antonio until their retirement to Blanco in 1982. They lived off Rocky Road until 1998 when they moved into Blanco. She was an active person and enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, sewing and was active in the Methodist Churches of Blanco and earlier in Bracken. Her father was a Methodist minister in Bracken.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Gerhard of Blanco; a son, Myron and his wife, B.J. Gerhard of Littleton, CO; a daughter, Lorraine and her husband, Billy Mueller of Universal City; brother, Ervin Menking of Marion; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence H. Gerhard, Jr.

Visitation will be at Crofts Funeral Home, Blanco from 5:00 to 7:00pm Friday, January 16. Funeral services will be 2:30pm Saturday, January 17 at Crofts Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Greene officiating. A graveside service will be held at Bracken Community Cemetery at 4:30pm Saturday with Rev. Mickey McCandless officiating.
