Dear Blanco Ladies, I have to apologize for the delay in the news of the Woman’s Club lovely events. We started off this year’s theme, “The Circles of Women Around Us,” in October at Red Corral Ranch’s outdoor labyrinth. The setting and weather were beautiful. The Civic group hosted the program presented by Jack Twilley about being a CASA representative for children. He gave a touching explanation about his time and work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate that goes beyond CPS’s capabilities. Thank you to Carolyn Boydston for bringing such an engaging and informative speaker. Other business included proposed updates to our bylaws because of the updates to Blanco Library Inc.’s updates to theirs. During this meeting we voted and welcomed the talented Wendy Watson to our club. A big thank you to the hostesses for the wonderful refreshments and cute fall decorations: Millie, Marcy, Penny, Tanya, and Judy.

During our November meeting at the Library, the Legislative Committee presented a comprehensive and educational program about the Electoral College and how it plays a role in our electoral system. Did you know that all of Texas’ electoral candidates are required to vote for the state majority and there are only two states where their electoral candidates’ vote reflects the percentage of votes for each party? Just fascinating! The hostesses outdid themselves again at this event, wonderful food and a beautiful table - just check out this picture! Thank you Rhonda, Andree, Carolyn, and Priscilla!

December’s Silver Tea at Diane Turner’s house was enchanting. The house, the refreshments, and the ladies were lovely and engaging. Beautiful silver dishes sparkled and the fireplaces glowed warmly as conversation flowed easily. The day was topped off with holiday carols led by the rich singing of Carol Davidson. Thank you Diane, Charlene, Linda, Gwen, Kathee, and Bonnie for setting such a magical and delicious table for us to enjoy!

In January we will meet at the Old Blanco County Courthouse and vote in the Inc. officers; proposed candidates include Priscilla Seals for Vice President, Rhonda Norville for Secretary, and Dean Myane for Investment Adviser. See you all there!
