•Senior boys/girls volleyball match: Thursday, January 29 at 6pm in the Blanco High School gym, $5 admission. Proceeds benefit 2009 Project Graduation.

January 31, 2009

•Hill Country Trail Riders Cowboy Breakfast - Saturday, January 31, 6:00am-8:00am, Yett Memorial Park. The Blanco community is invited to this free breakfast (donations appreciated) that has been a tradition for over 20 years.

February 1, 2009

•The Sons of Hermann Lodge #138 meeting Sunday, February 1 at 2:30pm. at Twin Sisters School House in Twin Sisters. All members are encouraged to attend.

•Blanco Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet: Tues, Feb 3; Uptown Blanco Restaurant; 5:30 to 8:30pm. This is a seated plate dinner. Please RSVP to the Chamber office by phone at 833-5101 or email blanco@moment.net. Tickets are $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

•Join Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation at their Boerne thrift store, The Squirrel's Nest, for a cat adoption day on February 7th, 2009. Stop by 515 North Main Street, just a couple blocks north of the Main Plaza Park, anytime from 9:00am to 2:00pm. You may just find your kitty soulmate!

•Second Act Troupe Comedy Production: The Second Act Troupe returns to Blanco with an all comedy production Saturday, February 7 at 7.30pm and Sunday, February 8 at 2.30pm at the Learning Center Theatre in the School District Offices 814 11th St. The program includes the one act comedy Admit One and excerpts from the comic revue Hat Tricks, that will feature Blanco actress Maggie Goodman. $12 tickets at the Blanco Chamber office 9am to 1pm, Mon- Fri, February 2-6 or by calling (512) 618-3355.

•AARP Drivers Safety Program: Sat, Feb 21 from 8:30am to 4:30pm at Bulverde Senior Center, 30280 Cougar Bend, Bulverde, TX. This Drivers Safety program is offered to those wishing to refresh/improve their driving skills and qualify for multi-year auto insurance discount. Does not relieve traffic citations. All ages welcomed. Auto insurance discount, confirm with agent. AARP members $12, non-members $14. A $2 donation to Senior Center is requested from all. Information/registration: 830-438-3111/ 2839.

•Book and Author Luncheon: The Friends of the Bulverde/Spring Branch Library invite you to attend the 4th Annual Book and Author Luncheon at 11am on March 11 at the Spring Hill Event Center at 2455 Celebration Dr on Hwy 281 N. The upscale event will include fine dining with 6 notable authors presenting their latest books. San Antonio author Pam Morsi will be the mistress of ceremonies.
