Free classes at the Bulverde/Spring Branch library
Wednesday, January 21, 2009 • Posted January 20, 2009

There is fun and learning galore for all ages, free at the Bulverde/Spring Branch Library.

Regular weekly events include a Wednesday 10:30am Pre-School Story Time with our well loved Connie Pace, and a Monday 10:30am Toddler’s Story Time with Connie’s sister, our new and already well received, Becky Kuykendall. Both Connie and Becky have extensive experience with story time, love spending time with children, and children love spending time with them!

Need to learn more about computers? The library offers computer classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2pm, with a special evening class being offered Tuesday, January 20th and February 16th at 6:00pm. Different computer topics, including the basics, are offered in areas we see a need. These are “hands on” classes. Check with the library to find out specific topics being covered each class.

Need to learn or practice English/Quiere aprender o practicar Ingles? English as a Second Language classes are offered Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, 6:00-8:00pm. Clases de Ingles cada martes y miercoles, 6:00-8:00pm.

Other friendly groups that meet monthly and are open to new members are the Stitchery Group (a support group for experienced “stitchers”) which meets the third Tuesday of each month at 10:30am, and the Genealogy Club which meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. The “Ya’ll Come” book club meets the second Thursday of the month at 11:00am and anyone is welcome to join. Ask at the library for what book they are discussing.

Want to honor that New Year’s Resolution to exercise? Try Yoga with Linda Hartman. She teaches at the library on Thursdays: February 5 and February 19 at 6:00pm, and February 12 and February 26 at 10:00am.

Also, try one of these great classes with D. Phelps: “Desk Stretches” (for those that sit at a desk all day) on January 29 from 5:30 to 6:30pm, and “Writing from Life” (starting a poetry and prose) on February 10 from 1:00 to 3:00pm. You can also look forward to D.’s art class on March 10 from 1:00 to 3:00 called “Yes You Can Draw!”
