Project Graduation Volleyball Match
Wednesday, January 21, 2009 • Posted January 20, 2009

Get set – the senior boys at Blanco High School will once again go up against the senior girls in their annual volleyball game scheduled for Thursday, January 29, at 6:00pm at the high school gym.

Proceeds will benefit 2009 Project Graduation, which provides an all-night, alcohol and drug-free celebration for Blanco seniors. Graduation is June 5.

Admission to the volleyball game is $5.00 per person. A concession stand will be available.

“In the last few years, our senior boys have prevailed, in spite of the girls putting up a good fight,” said Faith Ray, who’s coordinating this year’s competition. “This year’s rematch is going to be really exciting. It’s going to be interesting to see if the girls can claim the championship title this time.”

Meanwhile, more Project Graduation events are in the works. They include:

• Mr. Miss Pageant, February 21.

• Pancake supper, February 24.

• Celebrity dinner, March 25.

• Fun Run, April 18.

Project Graduation, this year being spearheaded by Steve and Cheryl Tamez, needs lots of volunteers to raise funds for the June 5th all-nighter. The next meeting is set for Tuesday, January 27, at 6:00pm at the high school cafeteria.
