Buffalo Soldiers Visit Park

Blanco State Park hosted the Buffalo Soldiers on Friday and Saturday. Students from the Blanco schools took a trip to the park on Friday to learn everything the soldiers had to teach.

Programs included animal tracking, orienteering, frontier cooking, Seminole scout stories, saddle and cowboy history, general Buffalo Soldier history, drill with the Buffalo Soldiers, hooked on fishing with cane poles, and women on the frontier.
