Tejas Art Club Artist of the Month
Peggy Wright
Wednesday, February 27, 2013 • Posted February 28, 2013

This designation is given each month by the Tejas Art Club Membership to honor a member with special recognition for their accomplishment.

This month's designee is Peggy Wright, a Blanco resident since 1997. She has been painting with the club for several years.

Peggy's grandmother was a recognized professional artist and is listed in the Smithsonian's America's Artists and is represented in their American Artists collection. She was an inspiration to Peggy, although they never had the opportunity to paint together because of being from different generations.

Some of Peggy's paintings are on display at Blanco National Bank in the exhibition of works by members of the Tejas Art Club and will be available to see.

The mediums Peggy uses for her realistic painting are both oil and acrylic. Her technique as well as her subject matter are realistic and well received by those who view her works.

Membership in the Tejas Art Club is open to all interested artists and meets the third Thursday of each month at 6 pm at the Blanco Library. Also, a group meets to paint together each Tuesday, 12:30-2:00, and is open to artists who would like to participate.
