The Panthers defeated the Johnson City Eagles on Tuesday, February 12 in a nail-biter in the final district game, 50 – 49. Leading the Panthers, Kyle Sauceda scored 16 points. Carlin Green added 12, with Brett Champion making 9. David Ramirez sank 6, and Colton Childress added 3. Sam Isenberg and Josh McCaslin each scored 2.

This win placed the Panthers in a tie with Ingram as co-district champs. Blanco and Ingram played again on Friday, February 15 at the Boerne Geneva gym to determine the 1st and 2nd place positions for play off. The Panthers pounded the Warriors 59 – 46 to take the victory. Kyle blazed the hoops for 26 points. Carlin scored 13, with Colton hitting 6. David made 5 and Sam sank 4. Josh scored 3, with Brett making 2.

The Panthers received a bye in the first round of playoffs, and then clashed with the Hitchcock Bulldogs on Friday, February 22 at Giddings High School in the Area round of playoffs. The game was fast-paced and the score was very close until the 4th quarter when Hitchcock pulled away. The Bulldogs defeated the Panthers 59-70.

Kyle led Blanco with 26 points, scoring 22 in the 2nd half. Sam and Brett each scored 9, with David adding 7. Colton and Carlin each sank 4 points.

The 2012-2013 Panther basketball team captured a share of the District Championship, which is believed never to have been done since 1986.

The Panthers have made the playoffs several times since then, but not as the District Champs. Congratulations to the team on an outstanding year!
