Revelation 4:1-11 (KJV)

“1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

Remember, I am not deciphering, merely sharing my feelings and observations. In verse one, John says he saw a door standing open in heaven.

Jesus said in John 10:9 “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

So we’re reminded Jesus is the Door, and it is Him speaking to John, because it was His voice as a trumpet in chapter one verses ten and eleven.

So John got to see the vision of heaven with God on His throne, and the seven Spirits of God, and Jesus, the slain Lamb. I have tried to paint this picture on paper and just can’t do it justice. I am not a very good artist, but I want to see it! Has anyone else who is reading this looked up in your dictionary the stones mentioned to get a picture in your mind?

Jasper is a form of chalcedony, and can be green, blue, yellow, brown, red, and off-white, like marble. I went online and looked it up! Considered to be a stone of protection.

The term chalcedony is derived from the name of the ancient Greek town Chalkedon in Asia Minor.

Chalcedony, which is found worldwide, is the name for a group of stones made of a microcrystalline or cryptocrystalline variety of quartz, which means the quartz crystals are too small to be seen without high magnification.

Sardius is a red stone. Can you imagine the transparent, glassy green sea and the four living creatures? They are also described in Ezekiel chapter 1.

I love researching God’s Word! It is spirit and life, just as Jesus said in John 6:63

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they arespirit, and they are life.”

Thank YOU LORD JESUS, for your Words! I do live on them! They are the bread of life!

John 6:35 “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
