Several members of the Blanco FFA and Blanco Jr. FFA traveled to San Antonio this past month to exhibit livestock in the San Antonio Livestock Exposition. These local students competed in the junior division of various species, with many placing high enough to qualify for the premium sale.

Leading the way for the local FFA members was Junior FFA member Kolby Marek, who placed 2nd with his light weight Brahman steer. Others placing steers included: James Leachman 4th place Limousin, Hanna Garrett 4th place Brangus, Kelton Marek 5th place Santa Gertrudis and Carly Haack 6th place Chianina.

Also placing in the top 10 of their respective divisions included; Rooster Johnson with a 9th place Duroc breeding gilt and Tyler Hardin with a 9th place Medium Wool market lamb.

These same exhibitors, along with several others, will now look towards the final two shows of the year as they will compete at Houston and Austin this month.

Advisors of the Blanco FFA and Blanco Junior FFA are Felice and Jason Marek.
