Old 281 Bridge Demolished in Marble Falls

On Sunday, March 17, hundreds of onlookers turned out along Lake Marble Falls to see the implosion of the old US Highway 281 bridge. The Texas Department of Transportation decided to demolish the bridge with explosives to cut down on time and money. A new, safer bridge for northbound traffic will now be built in its place. KVUE reported that areas of Burnet, Blanco, and Llano counties lost phone service due to the demolition.
