Uptown Blanco Arts and Entertainment announced today the next phase of the complex with the appointment of Rebecca Doll as Director of Uptown Blanco Art Center. The Art Center is an important part of Uptown Blanco Arts and Entertainment and is located in the renovated former Houser home on Third Street. “The opening of the Art Center signifies a continued commitment by Uptown Blanco in its efforts to help revitalize Blanco Square,” replies Ms. Doll.

Ms. Doll brings to the Art Center many talents from business management to teaching, as well as creative skills and a powerful desire to serve her community. “I love my job!” Ms. Doll says with raw enthusiasm. “It is an honor to serve the community and bring out the artist in everyone. I’m excited to deliver inspired art instructors with compelling curricula in numerous art mediums. Blanco County is so blessed to have such a brilliant studio in which to learn. We will create abundant jois de vive!” says Doll.

Preparations are underway to open the center February 1st with a Mardi Gras Masquerade Party, and it’s open to the entire community. The party will be fun for the whole family complete with food, music, games, prizes and of course, creativity. Upon entering the Art Center, party goers will create a mask with supplies provided for them. As you enter the courtyard, the festivities begin with live music by Zydeco Blanco. The food will be a traditional Mardi Gras fare complete with King Cake for everyone provided by Uptown Blanco Restaurant.

The art supply store will be open February 1st and art instruction will begin Monday, February 11th. The course schedule is currently under construction and will be announced soon. For more information call the Uptown Blanco Art Center 830-833-2514.
