Dear Editor,

There are always two sides to every story.

I believe people will still be greeted when they go to Dollar General. This store has changed for the better with the new manager. She is honest and hard working. Dollar General has policies, just like every other business, that management has to follow. It is not fair to judge the new manager if you don’t know her. She seems to care about customers and employees.

I believe Dollar General will still have most of Blanco’s business.

Dear Editor,

Can anyone tell me why they put the grooves in the road in sections on Hwy 32? Are they going to re-pave it? It is hard on the tires and very noisy.

Thank you,

Dear Editor,

It has just come to my attention that the City Council has yet again given a variance for the Sonic restaurant company to build an eyesore in our otherwise charming town. Why do we have a code at all if it is not honored? For that matter, why give advantage to businesses from outside of Blanco, who send all their profits away from our home town in exchange for a few minimum wage jobs. We don’t need to drive another locally owned restaurant out of business for lack of customers. Tell the City Council to respect the code. It was written by the people of Blanco for good reasons.

Dear Editor,

I am Disappointed to hear of yet another variance being handed out against the Planning and Zoning Committee’s vote. P&Z was created to protect Blanco and to permit strategic growth.

When City Council undermines that vote, that tells me that City Council does not support the very group whose purpose it is to monitor the development of this town.

Thank you,

Pamela Capps
