Ruby Reyes Ortiz

Ruby Reyes Ortiz, 73, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Yorktown, TX to Rufus and Mercedes Reyes. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Juan L. Ortiz and one son, Alberto Ortiz. She is survived by her sons, Roy Ortiz and Edward Ortiz; grandson, Dustin Guy Albert Ortiz; seven sisters, Dominga R. Perez, Berta R. Ruiz, Pauline R. Ortiz, Victoria R. Guzman, Esmeralda R. Smith, Rebecca R. Uballe, and Yolanda Reyes; five brothers, Cresencio C. Reyes, Juan C. Reyes, Rodolfo C. Reyes, Refugio C. Reyes, Jr., and Ruben C. Reyes. Ruby is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Although Ruby was born in Yorktown, she was raised in Johnson City. Johnson City was her home and where she raised her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Johnson City. Ruby worked for LBJ Medical Center the entire time it was in operation. She retired from LBJ Elementary School where she worked in the cafeteria. Ruby will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Crofts Funeral Home, Johnson City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at First Baptist Church in Johnson City. Interment will follow in the Masonic Cemetery, Johnson City.
