Members of the Blanco Historic Preservation Commission and members of the Twin Sisters Dance Hall will co-sponsor a window restoration workshop on Saturday, June 8, 2013. South & Central Texas area homeowners are invited to a restoration workshop from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at ‘Preservation Restoration Project’ at the Twin Sisters Dance Hall located at 6720 Hwy. 281.

Everyone is advised to bring a pair of gloves, 3M TEKK™ protection paint sanding respirator, and safety glasses. Donations will be accepted to defer the cost of materials.

Workshop attendees will learn how to repair remove window units, repair rotted wood sections, replace missing components, adjust frames, remove and reapply glazing, remove and reapply paint, how caulking and weather stripping can alleviate drafts and make windows more efficient, and maintain old sash windows with techniques from a preservation master-carpenter. They will also help support the ongoing rehabilitation of Twin Sisters Dance Hall, build in the1870.

Rudy Nino, owner of SA Building & Remodeling, Co., in the Texas Hill Country, and a builder-member of BHPC will instruct a workshop on preserving wood windows.

Space is limited to 20 people. For more information call: 830-833-3116 or Email: savewoodwindowsclass@gmail.com
