Class of 2013 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Annie Albrecht has attended Blanco Independent School District for 13 years. She credits her successful High School career to her passion for learning, competitive nature, and her supportive parents, Bill Albrecht and Lisa Duncan.

In addition to being the Class of 2013 Valedictorian, Annie’s other accomplishments include being named a Terry Foundation Scholar, Cross Examination Debate State Champion, National Honor Society Member and a Student Council member. She was also involved in the athletic program for all four years. Annie earned her Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do when she was eleven.

Annie will attend the University of Texas at Austin, double majoring in Plan II Honors and International Relations. She plans on attending graduate school to earn a Master’s Degree in a related area of study.

Sam Isenberg has attended Blanco Independent school District for 13 years. He is the son of Sid and Mary Jo Isenberg.

In addition to being the Class of 2013 Salutatorian, Sam’s other achievements include averaging over 101 throughout High School, National Honor Society President, National FFA Organization President, Student Council member and a State win for FFA Greenhand Chapter Conducting. Sam was also chosen for 1st and 2nd Team All-District throughout High School in Football, Basketball and Baseball. He has been Worship Assistant at Trinity Lutheran Church, participated in YoungLife, and has volunteered his time to numerous Community Service activities.

Sam will attend Texas State University where he plans to major in Mass Communications- Radio, TV and Film with the hope of becoming a broadcast journalist.
