The Ring out the Old–Ring in the New Chili Cook-Off (Tolbert Qualifier) was held on Doug Higgins ranch on RR 32 about 2.7 miles east of US Hwy 281 on Dec 31 and Jan 1. The sponsored, non-profit organization for this event was our local American Legion Memorial Highway Post 352. Among the many different types of entries were: beans, chili, ribs, margaritas, Bloody Mary’s, black-eyed peas, and turkey.

The American Legion would like to thank the businesses that helped support the raffle: Super S, Blanco General, Blanco Ice House, Michelle’s Little Tan Spot, Brieger Pottery, High Maintenance, Seymour’s Garage, Two Guys and a Mower, Office Cube, On the Square, A Step Back Antiques, Blanco Tire Shop, Squeaky Clean Car Wash, Strickland Drugs, Miller Creak RV Park, and Wittington’s Jerkey. These are really great local businesses we appreciate their wonderful support.
