Library Opens Photo Contest for 2014 Calendar
Wednesday, July 17, 2013 • Posted July 19, 2013

Photo Contest Time! The Blanco Library is gearing up to put together our 2014 Blanco Calendar and we want your pictures! Submit your pictures of what you think makes Blanco unique or of a moment in time you have captured in our wonderful Hill Country city or surrounding areas. Our panel of judges will select their favorite picture and the winner gets a Nook Simple Touch Reader! Please email us your pictures to blancotxlibrary@gmail.com by August 31st. We will need the following from you: Your wonderful picture, your name, your phone number, the first name of anyone in your picture, and a release form for anyone in the picture if it is of a specific set of people (you can pick up your form at the library, but you do not need one for a crowd).

Our new catalog system is up and running as well as our updated OverDrive e-library system! Check out special features of your account when you log-in with your 4 digit code and your phone number. Select your favorite authors to be automatically put on the list for them when we order their latest books! Logging into OverDrive is just as simple and we have tons of new books available!

Kids, don't forget our final summer programs:

July 19th Fun with Gnomes and Fairies

July 26th Closing Readings and Party with Connor Eyzaguirre!

While the programs will finish at the end of July, children can collect their reading prizes until August 10th. Remember, we have fun prizes like ice cream coupons to Liz’s On the Square, Six Flags Fiesta Texas coupons, candy, toys, and much more! You can continue to sign up for the summer reading program until August 1st.

The Blanco Library needs your help! We need front desk volunteers for Friday mornings 10-1pm and Friday afternoon 1-3pm. If you are interested in any of these positions, please come into the library and fill out an application. Be sure to let us know which one of these volunteer availabilities you want.

As always, remember to check our website at www.blancolib.org or call us at 830-833-4280 for more information.
