The Blanco High School Class of 1993 held their 20 year reunion on Saturday night, August 3, 2013, near Hamilton Pool Preserve at the home of Rachel and Chris Pepper (BHS ’93).
Jason Wagenfehr (BHS ’93), son of Karen and Buster Wagenfehr, kicked off the event with the invocation. Dinner consisted of fresh sausage from Lester’s Meat Market (Blanco, TX), enchiladas from Mrs. Estella Mancha (mother of Roland Mancha, BHS ‘93), and a variety of cheesecakes prepared by Cord Johnson (BHS ’93). Nineteen members of the Class of 1993 celebrated the occasion.
Matt Murrah (BHS ’93), son of Marcella and Dan Murrah, interviewed each graduate during the 1-hour portion of the formal program. David Lightrain Gray (BHS ’93), son of Debbie and Dave Gray, delivered the Class Toast. He also introduced “The Possum Posse,” a local bluegrass band that provided the live entertainment.
Some graduates and their families travelled from out of state; Kansas City, KS, New Orleans, LA, Louisville, KY, and Montgomery, AL. Others arrived from Austin, Blanco, Bulverde, Dripping Springs, the DFW area, Houston, Kingsville, Midland, and San Antonio.
Collin Caudell Gaskamp, daughter of Debbie and James Caudell, provided BHS memorabilia, including her megaphone and her daughter’s pom poms. The evening concluded with a commemorative viewing of the 1990 First Baptist Church “Youth Ski Trip Video” that was provided by Nikki Rodd (BHS ‘93 and niece of Dennis Moore).
Former and current high school faculty, staff, and school board members who attended were Coach Bryan Wyatt, James and Debbie Caudell, Rosemary Allen, Carol and Bill Spurgin, Tony Vela, and Peggy and Jim Pepper. Jill Sullivan Chase (BHS ’93), daughter of Peter Sullivan of Canyon Lake, Texas, documented the entire event with her camera. She explained that in addition to being friends on Facebook, the Class of 1993 are friends in life.”
The Class of 1993 enjoyed the reunion. They will continue their prayers and love for each other until their next gathering.
