Lawrence Coffee’s Induction into the National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum was awesome! Being married to a legend is quite an experience! Everywhere we go, someone recognizes Lawrence. He’s always smiling at people and waving to them.
Mr. & Mrs. Jim Austin treated all the inductees like royalty! Thursday night at the nightclub we were entertained by comedians and singers, and met some of the other inductees. The last lady who sang was led to sing about the Lord, and we all stood up and clapped, and we had church! Lawrence even got to meet Too Tall Jones! We have a picture of them standing next to each other and yes, he’s much taller than Lawrence!
Friday night at the induction we met with friends and family who made the trip with us and were served a delicious dinner. Lawrence told everyone that he was happy to be a part of an organization where he felt the love of God emanating throughout, and truly he saw that "there was no difference between the Jews and the Greeks" (a Scripture quote) and he got a standing ovation.
Saturday we toured the museum where the items he donated will be kept, and learned so many things, and I took over 300 pictures the entire weekend. I plan to make a scrapbook.
Sunday we attended church with our friends Carol and Raymond Bates, and then attended a rodeo! We had special guest seats and were served a BBQ dinner. It was a lot of fun. I got to meet Charlie Samson, the famous bull rider, too. We didn’t have to pay for any events and I got to buy lots of new cowboy clothes! I’m ready for the rodeos now! New blingy belt, new boots, new jeans, and a cowboy legend to ride with; what more could a city girl in the country want?
