The first day of school for students is Monday, August 26, and we are busily preparing for a successful 2013 – 2014 school year.
Each of the district’s campuses has been undergoing facility improvements.
At the high school, middle school, and elementary school, the entrance ways are being renovated in order to make them more safe and secure.
Also at the elementary campus, the newly renovated historical building will be open for classes for the first time. Grades 3, 4, and 5 will be housed in the building. In addition, the renovated building will also house the library, a computer lab, and a science lab.
In addition, the elementary campus will house a new band hall/music room and art room. These new classrooms were created as renovations to the old cafeteria.
These facility improvements will not only make our campuses safer, but will also upgrade our overall program and improve our learning environment.
They will also serve Blanco ISD students for many years to come.
On Saturday, August 24, we will be hosting a formal dedication of the historical building from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. The event will be open to everyone. We’ve planned for a an open house, a ribbon cutting, a bell ringing, and a panoramic picture taken by Goldbeck Photography in San Antonio. Refreshments will also be served.
Blanco ISD is committed to educational excellence, and has been since it was first established in 1884.
We look forward to maintaining that tradition, and building upon it.
We hope you have had an enjoyable and rewarding summer.
We welcome you back to the upcoming school year.
Thank you very much.
