Panther Volleyball Digs Into Season, Captures 2nd at Wimberley Tournament

The Panther volleyball team opened their season at home with a 3-0 win over Bracken Christian School on Tuesday, August 13. Set scores were (25-7), (25-20), and (25-13). Varsity team members this year are Seniors, Meaghen Seales and Ashlyn Stephens, Juniors, Reagan Rogers, Lexee Jenkins, Abbie Culton, Payton Savarino, Jamie McClinton, Kari Graham, Ashley Hall and Sophomore Skylar Burns.

On Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17, the Panthers played in the Wimberley Tournament posting victories over Lockhart, Austin Regents, Kerrville Tivy, Boerne Geneva, and Comfort. The team lost to Wimberley in pool play and then fell to Wimberley again in the Gold Level Championship game to place 2nd in the highly competitive tournament.

Monday, August 19, following Meet the Panthers Night at the high school gym, the Blanco girls took on the Burnet Lady Bulldogs posting a 3-0 win with set scores, (25-19), (25-14), and (25-17).

The junior varsity squad also defeated Bracken with a 2-0 win and set scores (25-16) and (25-11).

The varsity travels to the Cedar Creek (Bastrop) Tournament this weekend.
